Regular pool hours are from 11 a.m. to dusk Monday through Friday, from noon to 7 p.m. Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. Reduced hours are in effect from Aug. 16 to Aug. 29, when the pool closes for the season.
Early-bird adult swim is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday. It’s free for senior pass holders, $3 for district residents and $5 for non-residents.
Membership fees (purchased by July 31) for 2010 are:
- Family (up to five people) $105 for Bridgeview residents, $165 for non-residents. Additional family members $6.
- Individuals $46 for Bridgeview residents, $71 for non-residents.
- Seniors $26 for Bridgeview residents, $36 for non-residents.

Family Float Night is the only time floats are allowed in the pool. Float nights run from 5 p.m. to dusk every Wednesday starting June 9. Pass holders are allowed in free. The fee is $6 for an individual and $15 for a family.
Swim lessons are available for $42 for eight-week classes starting Saturday, June 19. Classes are offered for parents and tots, and beginning lessons for children 3 to 5 years old, 6 to 8 years old and 9 to 11 years old.
Bridgeview residents also can use the Summit Park District’s Sum-Fun spray pad this summer and pay the resident rate of $100 for a family (up to 4) and $50 for an individual. Daily rates are $5.
The spray pad features spray towers, spray fountains, spray pipes, spray cannons and a slide. The spray pad is open daily from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Summer camps start in June
Summer Camp Series 1 for children 6 to 12 years old begins June 14 and runs through July 9 at the Bridgeview Park District.
Camp A runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost is $268. Camp B runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Cost is $165. Camp C runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost is $358. All camps include field trips.
Children 3 to 5 can take part in Tot Camp from 9:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday from June 21 to July 30. Cost is $155 and includes a camp T-shirt, a daily snack and one field trip.
Children must be the appropriate age by June 1.
Let’s go fly a kite
Saturday, June 19 is Let’s Fly a Kite Day at Commissioners Park, 8100 Oketo Ave. Everyone is invited to bring their favorite kite to the park from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Special recognition will be given to homemade versions, but all kites are welcome. Everyone who flies a kite will receive a certificate.

Fireworks in the Park
Mark your calendars early. Independence Day fireworks will brighten the night sky at dusk on Friday, July 2 at Commissioners Park. The rain date is Friday, July 9.
